Seek vaccines to stop the spread

If offered the vaccines for the coronavirus, you should take it to stop the spread of COVID-19 and save lives.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently approved two types of COVID-19 vaccines to the public for emergency use. These vaccinations work in two doses, each teaching your immune system how to fight the virus that causes COVID-19. This helps to build immunity within the body. Therefore, when you receive the shot, you’re not only protecting your own health; you’re also slowing the spread of infection to others.

But some people still hesitate to take this opportunity of immunity because of circulating misconceptions. False notions regarding ingredients, dose distributions and side effects have tainted the perception of effectiveness of the shot. The Food and Drug Administration and CDC, however, approved these vaccines after rigorous testing, silencing these incredible myths.

Some have voiced concerns about the almost unprecedented pace of vaccine development. True, the release of this vaccine came in record time. But newer technology, hundreds of vaccination candidates and exceptional financial support created the ability to intensify and enhance research. With more than 508,000 loved ones already lost, the vaccine could save lives. The sooner you receive the vaccine, the sooner your loved ones become safer.

So, seek the vaccines to have a shot at stopping the spread of COVID-19 and saving lives.
